Lapis Lazuli was anciently considered a royal stone that would elevate everyone around them.  The famous golden sarcophagus of King Tut was heavily decorated with Lapis Lazuli stones. It was traditionally used as burial ornaments for royalty because of its power to stimulate openness to the spirit world.
